Hello!
How have you been?
I am really hoping you’ll take a moment to respond and tell me how you really are, considering how hard we’re all trying to make sure this year turns out great.
Did you go to a boarding school? I did.
All the days before visiting day were the tough days and visiting day was the beautiful day we looked forward to.
Of course, I wouldn’t equalize getting punished by a senior or not getting food in dining, with the real life challenges that have made these times so tough.
This email is not even about that.
For some reason, my dad never showed at my school on visiting days. Trust teenagers to always ask questions, “Why has your dad never come to see you?”
LOL. I can’t even remember the numerous answers I used to give…but I began to not like the fact that my dad didn’t show up at my school on visiting days.
The first time a man came to see me in school, I was happy to answer anyone that asked if he was my dad, “Yes, he is”.
He wasn’t. I was just famzing the kind pastor and family friend, who dropped by my school to see me. 😂😂
My mum used to come regularly, but I just wanted something more.
Do you want something more, sometimes?
Have you ever lied to feel better about yourself?
The maiden episode of my podcast, Thoughts by Haypreel, is about “Claiming Someone Else’s Dad” to feel good about yourself or to be accepted by others.
Listen here and please, tell me what you think.
Feel free to leave a voice message, if that’ll be easier for you.
Always always remember, I love you very much and I want to see you do well.
Love,
Haypreel
